WTO : US blocks Appellate Body vacancies for 75th time, DSS reform in crisis (PRIV)

For the 75th time, the United States on 2 6 April blocked a request from 130 members for filling the vacancies at the W orld Trade Organization's Appellate Body (AB), the highest adjudicating body und er the WTO's enforcement function, creating serious doubts whether the AB will be restored at all, said people familiar with the development.

WHO : Draft pandemic instrument resolution opens floodgates to endless talks (PRIV)

The draft resolution on the WHO Pandemic Instrument prepared by the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) opens the floodgates to endless negotiation processe s after the adoption of the instrument with equity being more elusive.

WHO : Resumed pandemic instrument talks start amid concerns on talk process (PRIV)

Negotiations on the pandemic instrument will resume on 29 April amidst concerns on the negotiation process, which effectively disallows Member States to engage in effective text-based negot iations to narrow down their differences and improve the text.
